'They had come to hear
Jesus and be healed of their diseases... And all in the crowd were trying
to touch him, for power came out from him and healed all of them.' St Luke
6.18 - 19
We wish it were that easy to
be healed, don't we? If only we had Jesus in our midst, we could touch him
and be whole again. Well, we don't see Jesus visibly when we come together
to worship. But he IS present among us, by his promise. And his
power does come to us in our various needs.
In, with, and under the Word
of God, we are in the presence of divine power. In, with, and under Holy
Communion, we taste the Risen Christ. In, with, and under our prayers, we
feel the healing touch of Jesus. In, with, and under the fellowship of
God's people, we experience the friendship of Jesus.
Worship is indeed an 'hour of
power'. See you there!

processed and maintained in a congregation.
