Reformation Sunday Concert

On Sunday, October 28 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 500 N. Second St. in Silverton, will host a Reformation Sunday Organ Concert.

The concert, free to the public, will focus almost entirely on solo organ compositions by Dieterich Buxtehude, a German composer.  An excerpt from a Buxtehude cantata will also be heard.  Performers are Christopher Wicks, organist; Nicole Kent, alto; and Eadie Anelli, violinist.  A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the restoration of the stained glass windows of the church.

Dieterich Buxtehude was the most famous organist in Germany prior to Johann Sebastian Bach who was his student. The three hundredth anniversary of Buxtehude's death is observed this year.

A reception will follow the concert.

For more information, phone 503-874-9481 or 503-873-2635 or email trinityevents@wildblue.net. For directions to the church, see www.trinitylutheranonline.org.
