Thrivent Builds Update:
The partnership between Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Habitat for Humanity has reached an important milestone: 500 homes! The "Thrivent Builds" campaign has helped fund 500 Habitat homes nationwide. The unprecedented alliance was designed to help increase Habitat for Humanity's ability to build more affordable housing and to offer an important way for Thrivent Financial's nearly 3 million members to give back to their communities. To date, Thrivent Builds has increased Habitat's U.S. building efforts by nearly six percent. Locally, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has partnered with a number of local Lutheran churches to sponsor one home per year since the partnership began in '06. The "Thrivent Builds" homes on Wendy St. in Salem are under construction. A possible "Thrivent Builds" home in 08 is under discussion. Thank you Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the local Lutheran churches (Our Savior's Lutheran Church, St. Mark Lutheran Church, Faith Lutheran Church, Christ the Good Sheppard, Redeemer Lutheran Church, and Holy Cross Lutheran Church) that have helped make this milestone a reality!

Help Us Find Land
On the Lookout for Land
Habitat for Humanity is currently seeking land to build our next Habitat homes. Ideally, we are seeking two adjacent lots (but individual lots will also be considered). We are open to available land anywhere in the SLAMS Service Area, but we are especially interested in building in Aumsville. We are looking for reduced price land~ two lots for approximately $70K. Any donations to Habitat, including reduced-price land, are tax-deductible. If you have or know of available land please contact Rick Gaupo at rguapo@salemhabitat.org or 503-364-6642.
Would you like to be removed from Habitat for Humanity for the Mid-Willamette Valley Update? Or would you like to receive the e-newsletter in text-only format? If so, please e-mail Julie Brown, jbrown@salemhabitat.org, with your request and it will be taken care of. Contact Julie Brown, jbrown@salemhabitat.org or 503.364.6642, for details on any of the items listed above.
