As they came near the village to which they were going, he [Jesus] walked ahead as if he were going on. But they urged him strongly, saying, “Stay with us…” So he went in to stay with them. When he was at table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him.’ St Luke 24.28-31

Jesus never insinuated himself on anyone. The same is true today. The risen Christ is always available to richly bless us with God’s gifts, and all it takes is to open our homes and hearts with an invitation for him to ‘stay with us’.

I hope that you begin each day with a simple prayer to this loving Lord, something like this: “Lord Jesus, you are as present as the light of this new day. Stay with me and dwell in my heart as I live this day in your love.”
