They shall beradiant over the goodness of the Lord.'  Jeremiah 31.12

2600years ago, God promised his broken and scattered people a newbeginning.  Their restoration would be so wonderful that they wouldbreak out in singing and dancing, grateful to God for his salvation. "I will comfort them and give them gladness for sorrow," said theLord.  "With weeping they shall come and with consolations I will leadthem back."

2600 + years later, things are no different.  Many people are glad toleave the woes of 2009 behind, and look forward with great anticipationto 2010.  For us, the people of God in this time and age, our gladnesscomes from the birth of Jesus, the Light of the world, and our hope isrooted in the promises of God which are no different today than theywere for God's people long ago.
