'I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever.'  Psalm 89.1

I had a friend in high school who was totally tone deaf.  Couldn't hit a note on pitch.  But that didn't bother him.  He loved to sing anyway, and loved to listen to recorded music.  In fact, I still have some of his old LP albums in my collection.

The Psalmist encourages us to open our mouths and sing of God's love.  He doesn't say we have to have the voice of an opera singer.  Think of how dull and lifeless worship would be without music!  I can't even imagine it.  The late, great conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein (think 'West Side Story' and other musicals) once made this comment that I think is right on:  "Every once in a while we have feelings so deep and so special that we have no words for them.  Music names them for us, only in notes instead of in words.  It's all in the way music moves--we must never forget that music is movement, always going somewhere, shifting and changing and flowing from one note to another; and that movement can tell us more about the way we feel than a million words can."

Join God's people at Redeemer every Sunday and lift up your voice to give expression to your love for God...and especially to God's love for you!

CELEBRATE AND GIVE THANKS!  WE'VE PASSED OUR FINAL BUILDING INSPECTIONS!!  A
ll the hard work that's gone into the upstairs has finally paid off in the county giving us the OK on being up to code.  Hallelujah, and don't forget to thank all the people who have put in tons of volunteer hours to make this happen!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL BEGINS NEXT MONDAY:  Pat Haneberg is organizing this, and if you can help even for a few hours please contact her.
