'The angel said...I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'  St Luke 2.10-11

"To all the people"  God's gift of Jesus is not the possession of a select few.  No, as God had promised, Jesus came for ALL people.  No exceptions.  Rich and poor, old and young, male and female, regardless of race and nationality, Christ is born for all of us.

"to you..."  And yet, Christ is indeed born for each of us as well as all of us.  'To you' the angel announces.  And in the miracle of God's grace each one of us appropriates Jesus into his or her heart and life.  Though Lord of all the universe, Christ is ours.  Our greatest treasure in life and in death.

May the rich, abundant blessings of the good news of Jesus' birth be yours in full measure as we approach the manger once again.  And may God's love fill our hearts with love and peace toward all people.  Merry Christmas!  Let there be joy and comfort and hope in our homes...and in our world!
